5.0 Group lessons

5.1 Specific to children courses

Children learn at different rates and sometimes a swimming pool can be quite daunting to a child and we never force a child to enter a swimming pool. If they do not wish to come into the swimming pool during a lesson, they can sit on the side of the pool and watch. Alternatively, If a parent/guardian wishes to be in the pool to facilitate and help the child feel safe this is also fine.

Courses are non refundable. If your child does not wish to go into the pool we will work really hard to help the child overcome the fear of the water and appreciate guardian support with this.

5.2 Missing a single group lesson

At GoWaters, when we have to cancel a lesson we will always give as much notice as possible and will always look to offer an alternative session or as a last resort refund you for that lesson.

Likewise, we understand that there are reasons your child or yourself may miss a group lesson. Unfortunately any lessons that are missed are non-refundable.

5.3 Illness

If you or your child misses one or more lessons due to illness the course fee is not refunded. Attendance of the course is taken by the teacher. It isn’t mandatory for you to report illness, however, we are grateful if you notify us of any absence. You can do this via our contact details or via sportadmin medlemsapp This is especially true if the absence refers to the first teaching opportunity or if the child ends prematurely.

6.0 Private lessons

6.1 Withdrawal and cancellation of a single private lesson

At GoWaters, when we have to cancel a lesson we will always give as much notice as possible and will always look to offer an alternative session or as a last resort refund you for that lesson.

In the event that a lesson must be cancelled or rescheduled, please adhere to our cancellation policy. This cancellation policy will be strictly enforced.

We are bound to the cancellation policy of each facility that we use. As a business we have to give 1 weeks notice to cancel the lane hire. Any cancellation within this time period results in GoWaters being fully charged for the lane hire.

6.3 What happens if I am running late?

The start time of the lesson is the time that you need to be by the poolside, wearing your swim costume and ready to get in the water.

It’s very important that you check the start time of your lesson carefully. We appreciate that things can happen that can cause you to be late such as public transport. In any event that you are late we will accommodate you for the remaining time of your scheduled lesson.

6.4 Missed lesson / No show

It sometimes happens that a swimmer doesn’t show up for a lesson. In almost all cases this is process-related. The swimmer didn’t diarise the lessons, or did so for the wrong day/time, or misread the start time or simply completely forgot about the lessons. In a few cases something cropped up last minute at work or home or transport failed. We understand that these things happen.

Where we miss you we will always drop you a note to check in with you and make sure everything’s ok.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to reinstate the lesson as the instructor will have been in the right place at the right time waiting for you

6.5 Illness

If you miss a lesson due to illness the course fee is not refunded. Attendance of the course is taken by the teacher. It isn’t mandatory for you to report illness, however, we are grateful if you notify us of any absence.

6.6 Menstruation

Unfortunately your lesson cannot be rescheduled or refunded due to menstruation. Women can use a Menstrual Cup or Tampon, both are very effective and safe to use whilst swimming.

10.0 Satisfaction Rules

In order for students and teachers to concentrate on the teaching, we are grateful if both parents and the pupil / students enter the pool room at the earliest 5 minutes before the lesson begins and maintain a low sound level during the lessons. It makes it easier for us to maintain a good quality of swimming lessons. We have equipment marked ‘GoWaters’ that can be used within the lessons and the teacher will collect these at the beginning of the lesson. There may be other people’s swimming accessories but these may only be used by the owners of these, please respect this.

Specific to children’s class, we kindly ask that parents stay in the background and only watch when the swimming lessons are in progress. Questions or comments can be asked to the instructor after the lesson or by contacting GoWaters Swim School representatives, Chris Waters or Michelle Marquis-Brorson.

Remember to bring a bathing suit, towel and water bottle. If the student / students have long hair, it is also good to have a tassel or bathing cap. Swimming goggles are only recommended, however not necessary.

For everyone’s enjoyment, all students should shower with soap and hair wash before swimming. Students who have not showered may not participate in swimming lessons
